ABOUT GFC Staffing

GFC Staffing is a woman owned Professional Services Company, specializing in Technology, Finance and Executive level placement. Headquartered in Long Beach, CA, we have over 50 years of combined experience. Other companies may offer similar services, but the people we place and the clients we place them with keep coming back because they can tell that we care about the quality that we deliver and we know our business is about placing people with people.

Phyllis C. Nickelsen

Co-Founder, Sr. Talent Acquisition Partner

Phyllis was formerly Founder and CEO of Pro-Tem Solutions, one of the top staffing firms in Los Angeles. In 1994, after a career in HR Management and as a Sr. IT Recruiter, with companies that didn't always align with her personal values, Phyllis Nickelsen saw an opportunity to do Business in a Different Way. She had a vision of creating a company that was based on core values of Integrity, Honesty, and Taking Care of Employees and Clients. She always thought that it was possible to create a business that was Win/Win for everybody. In September of 1994, she created Pro-Tem Solutions, Inc., a Boutique Professional Staffing Firm, specializing in Technology and Finance/Accounting. After 17 successful years, in 2012, Pro-Tem Solutions was acquired by another company and Phyllis gained the experience of working at another, larger, founder-operated staffing firm. She appreciated the experience, but still felt a strong desire to connect with people, provide unique service and conduct business according to her values of doing the right thing, balancing generosity and profitability, and client and employee satisfaction. In 2013, she and Shauna Reynolds formed GFC Staffing.

Shauna Reynolds

Shauna is a California native and USC Alumni with 20 years of Technical Recruiting experience. A lifelong learner, she has always combined strong intellectual capabilities with creative enrichment. This laid a great foundation for knowing people, including which personalities would fit best with each other and who might be best suited for a particular role. She is extremely resourceful and is skilled at finding passive candidates as well as those who are actively seeking new opportunities. Shauna is best known for her ability to find the right technical and cultural fit, making placement after placement, across multiple industries, often in hard to fill roles, motivated by the desire to have both client and candidate happy for the duration of the contract or employment. As her career progressed, she began to focus attention on acquiring skill in the business operations side of staffing to round out her 20 years of recruiting experience. In 2013, she and Phyllis Nickelsen formed GFC Staffing.
